Best Tips Ever: Caring For And Embracing Your Locks

It might be surprising, but comb through hair carefully using a wide tooth comb.

Remember to always start from the ends of your hair first, never comb hair straight down from the roots.

Avoid using brushes, as they will only make your hair frizzy,  also avoid combing your hair every single day.
Detangle your hair with your fingers if necessary.

You may also be surprised to learn, excessive combing can actually break your hair off.
Making sure your hair is slightly damp before you start to detangle, your hair is very vulnerable when its wet,
so let air-dry awhile first.
Consider using a comb attachment when blow- drying your hair. Let your hair air-dry a little first, then gently blow- dry your hair using a comb attachment.

Which will reduce the amount of pulling and tugging, which can lead to breakage.
You can also use a hair dryer as well.
Positively, avoid heat styling whenever possible.  Use a lower temp along with heat protectant spray if you do.

Adding the spray while hair is wet, helps make it more effective.
When styling hold the curling iron or flat iron, whichever you prefer slightly open while passing over hair.
This way you can avoid pulling and tugging which as mentioned earlier can lead to breakage.  Another great tip is, limit heat styling to two times a month at the most.
Always use the lowest temp possible to avoid getting too hot.
Heat protectant sprays will only do so much.
Opt for ceramic flat irons instead if metal ones, which are gentler on your hair.
Heat protectants come in many forms other than sprays which can include: conditioners,  creams, serums and shampoos.
Avoid using high stress styles over long periods of time.
I know this because, tight ponytail and light braids can look gorgeous, but can also put a lot of stress on your scalp and hair.

Overtime they can create breakage and split ends, which can stress your hair follicles, causing thinning along the hairline.
Hairstyles such as cornrows,  braids and even weaves should not hurt.
If they do, they are way too tight and damaging to your hair.
Rubberbands can cause tears and breakage too, a great alternative rubberbands is ponytail holders without a metal clip.
Based on these few hair care tips you can surely embrace your hair and keep it healthy looking.
